AN ORDINANCE RE-NAMING HIGHLAND STREET, WHICH IS A STREET WITHIN THE
CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, IN SECTION TWO
OF SUNSET TERRACE ADDITION FROM A POINT IN THE PRESENT CITY LIMITS
120 FEET WEST OF THE WEST RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF LAS VEGAS TRIAL
EASTERLY TO THE CENTER LINE OF CIMARRON TRAIL, HEREBY NAMING THE
SAME "WRANGLER DRIVE" , AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls,
have been requested by interested parties to change the name of
Highland Street in Sunset Terrace , Section 2, to Wrangler Drive,
within the said City of Wichita Falls, and
WHEREAS, there is presently another street by the name of
Highland Street within the said City of Wichita Falls, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita
Falls, believe it to be to the best interest of the said City that
the same be changed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
1) THAT, Highland Street in Sunset Terrace Section 2, be
renamed Wrangler Drive .
2 ) TEAT all ordinances or portions of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
3) THAT, the fact that there is presently another street
within the City of Wichita Falls by the name of Highland Street
disrupts mail and other services, it is hereby declared that the
foregoing ordinance is an emergency measure on the grounds of 'urgent
public need for the protection of the general welfare, and this
ordinance shall be, and is, effective from and after the date of its
passage .
