Ord 1954 7/10/1961 .414 ),3 Vz-y G7 ,3/ ORDINANCE NC. AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, BY ANNEXING ALL OF THOSE PARTS OF WICHITA. COUNTY WATER CONTROL AND IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO . 1, WHICH LIE OUTSIDE THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, WHICH LANDS ARE DESCRIBED IN THIS ORDINANCE AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS: SECTION I. That the following tracts of land located in Wichita County,Texas, be and the same are hereby ordered to be annexed and included within the corporate limits of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, and that the corporate limits be extended so as to include said tracts of land in Wichita County, Texas, the same being - more particularly described as follows: Being all of Wichita County Water Control and Improvement District No, 1, more fully described as follows: Beginning at an Iron pipe which is the Southwest corner of Survey No, 7, by John A. Scott, in the southern part of Wichita County, State of Texas, as a point of beginning; thence East 840 ft. to a point on the southerly boundary line of said John A. Scott survey No. 7; Thence north 20 deg. 38 minutes, 30 seconds West, 2382 ft. to a point on the westerly boundary line of said John A. Scott survey No. 7; Thence North 379 ft. along the western boundary line of J. A. Scott Survey No. 7, to a point on the westerly boundary line of said John A. Co. to the point on the southerly boundary line of the Seymour Holliday Public Highway, which point is also on the westerly boundary line of said G. C. & S. F. Ry. Co. Survey, No. 2; Thence South 66 deg. 6 minutes West, 5245ft. along the southern boundary line of the Seymour Holliday Public Highway to a point on the northern boundary line of Denton County School Land League No. 1; Thence West 2053 ft. along the northern boundary line of Denton County School Land League No. 1, to the northwest corner of Subdivi- sion No. 3 of the Denton County School Land League No 1; Thence South, 10962 ft. along the Western boundary line of Subdivisions numbers 3, 10, 15 and 22 of the Denton County School Land. League No. 1, to the southwest corner of subdivi- sion No. 22 of said Denton County School Land League No. 1; Thence East 2543 ft. along the southern boundary line of subdivision No. 22, Denton County School Land League No. 1, to the southeast corner of said subdivision No. 22, of Denton County School Land League No. 1; Thence South, 2160 ft. along the western boundary line of subdivision No. 26, of the Denton County School Land League No. 1, to a point on the western boundary line of said subdivision No. 26 of Denton County School Land League No. 1, Thence South 58 dog. East, 5016 ft. diagonally across subdivisions 26-35 and 36 of the Denton County School Land League No. 1, to a bolt on the southern boundary line of subdivision No, 36, Denton Countzr 7,chool Land League No. 1; Thence East 751 ft. along the southerly boundary line of subdivision No. 36, Denton County School Land League No. 1, to an Iron Pipe, the southwest corner of Survey No. 7, by John A. Scott, which is the point of beginning; containing 15,543 acres; SAVE AND EXCEPT that part of said Wichita County Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 which now lies within the City limits of the City of Wichita Falls. SECTION II. In conformity with Section 3-A of the amended charter of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, this Ordinance is on the 22nd day of May, 1961, introduced and the City Clerk is directed to publish said Ordinance one time in a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, and seven days thereafter this -2- „ 4s. - • Ordinance may be finally acted upon. SECTION III. The fact that many people reside in the territory described in this Ordinance creates an emergency and it is hereby declared that the foregoing Ordinance is an emergency measure on the grounds of urgent public need for the protection of the general welfare, and this Ordinance shall go into effect immediately upon its passage and approval. This Ordinance having been introduced on the 22nd day of May, 1961, and having been published in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, to-wit, the Wichita Falls Record News, one time, to-wit, on the .4 day of May, 1961, and seven days from such publication having elapsed, this Orsal an e shall be finally passed and approved this 7.0 day of !IF A.
