AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO . 1641 . THE TRAFFIC ORDINANCE, BY
AMENDING SECTION 53 OF ARTICLE 5, DECLARING AND ENUMERATING CERTAIN
SPEED REGULATIONS ON SPECIFIED STREETS OR PORTIONS THEREOF, WHICH
SHALL REPLACE THE PRIMA FACIE STATE SPEED LAW WHEN SIGNS ARE ERECTED
GIVING NOTICE THEREOF.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS :
That Section 53 of Article 5 of Ordinance No. 164.1; the Traffic
Ordinance, is hereby amended to read as follows :
"Section 53. Changing State seed limits in certain zones .
It is hereby determined upon the basis of an engineering and traffic
investigation that the speeds permitted by State law upon the follow-
ing streets are greater or less than are necessary for safe operation
of motor vehicles thereon, and it is hereby declared that the prima

The fact that these speed zones as set out above are urgentl3
needed to properly control heavy traffic upon the Red River Valley
Expressway constitutes, and it is hereby declared, an emergency on\the
ground of urgent public need for the preservation of peace, health, and
safety of property, and this Ordinance shall become effective imme9ately
upon the passage thereof. I
