AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING TEE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS , \
TEXAS , BY ANNEXING CERTAIN LANDS ADJACENT TO THE NORTHWESTERN TERRI- `
TORIAL LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS , TEXAS , WHICH LANDS ARE
DESCRIBED IN THIS ORDINANCE. (A PART OF CITY VIEW HEIGHTS ADDITION)
BE IT ORDAINED BY TH,� BOARD OF ALDE NEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS , TEXAS :
SECTION 1. THAT, the following tract of land located in
Wichita County, Texas be and the same is hereby ordered to be
annexed and to be included within the corporate limits of the City
of Wichita Falls, Texas, and that the corporate limits be extended
so as to include said tract of land in Wichita County, Texas, the
same being +,ore particularly described as follows:
The following described tract of land out of the Thomas
Hardy Survey, Abstract No. 367 and the J. a. Cook Survey,
Abstract No. 40, Wichita County, Texas, presently bounded
on the South and East by existing city limits and being a
part of the City View Heights Addition, more particularly
described as follows:
Beginning at a point of intersection at the West right-of-
way line of Grandview East Street and the South right-of-
way line of U. S. Highway No. 287 Expressway;
Thence South 89° 511 East 198.8 feet along said South
right-of-way line to a point being the Northwest corner
of the existing city limits as annexed per Ordinance
No. 1807,' tract II dated February 8, 1960;
Thence South with the existing city limit line a distance
of 2727 feet lore or less to the center line of the North
Side Main Canal of Wichita County Water and Improvement
District No. 2, also being the existing North city limit
line as per Ordinance No. 1851, tract I, dated November
23, 1959;
Thence in a Westerl y direction along t'_,e center line of
said Canal being the present city limit line, to the West
line produced of Lots 16 through 20, Block "C" of the City
View Heights Addition;
Thence North along West line of said Lots 16 through 20
produced approximately 975 feet to the North line of Lot
10, Block "D";
Thence East along said North line of Lot 10, Block "D",
the North line of Lots 5 through 9, Block "0" , and Lots
1 and 2, Block "N" 1100 feet to its intersection with the
West line of Grandview East Street;
Thence North along said West line of Grandview East Street
2052 feet more or less to the point of beginning and con-
taining 39.80 acres of land more or less.
SECTION 2 . In conformity with Section 3-A of the amended
charter of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, this Ordinance is on
the 9th day of October, 1961, introduced and the City Clerk is
directed to publish said Ordinance one time in a newspaper of
general circulation published in the City of Wichita Falls, Texas,
and seven days thereafter this Ordinance may be finally acted upon.

SECTION 3. The fact that many people will want to reside in
the territory described in this Ordinance and will be unable to
take advantage of city conveniences , fire and police protection,
sanitary and health measures, creates an emergency and it is here-
by declared that the foregoing ordinance is an emergency measure
on the grounds of urgent public need for the protection of the
general welfare, and this ordinance shall go into effect immediately
upon its passage and approval.
This Ordinance having been introduced on the 9th day of
October, 1961, and having been published in a newspaper of general
circulation in the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, to-wit, the
Wichita Falls record News, one time, to-wit, on the i

tion having elapsed, this ordinance hall be finally passed and
