AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS,
TEXAS, BY ANNEXING CERTAIN LANDS ADJACENT TO THE SOUTHERN TERRITORIAL
LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, WHICH LANDS ARE DESCRIBED
IN THIS ORDINANCE. (A TRACT ALONG THE SOUTH SIDE OF F.M. ROAD NO. 369)
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the following tract of land located in Wichita
County, Texas, be and the same is hereby ordered to be annexed and to
be included within the corporate limits of the City of Wichita Falls,
Texas, and that the corporate limits be extended so as to include
said tract of land in Wichita County, Texas, the same being more
partic° larly described as follows :
The following described tract of land out of Block No. 3,
Kemp and Newby Subdivision of Cherokee County School Lands,
Wichita County, Texas, presently bounded on the West, North,
and East by existing City limits , more particularly described
as follows:
Beginning at a point in the present city limits line, said
point also being the northwest corner of a ten acre tract
of land described in Vol. 826, Page 258, Wichita County,
Texas , deed records and the Northwest city limits point of
that land annexed into the City by Ordinance No. 1957;
Thence South 10 11 ' East along the present city limit line
and the west line of said ten acre tract 630 feet to a point;
Thence West approximately 1703 feet to a point in the east
line of the Texas Highway Department property, also being
the existing city limit line;
Thence in a northerly direction along said city limit line
approximately 94.0 feet to a point in the south right-of-way
line of Farm to Market Road No. 369;
Thence South 790 39 ' East along said South right-of-way
line of Farm to Market Road No. 369 which is the present
city limit line 1724.8 feet to the point of beginning and
containing 30.625 acres of land, more or less.
SECTION 2. In conformity with Section 3-A of the amended
Charter of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, this Ordinance is on
the ig day of 1961, introduced and the City
Clerk is directed to publish said Ordinance one time in a news-
paper of general circulation published in the City of Wichita Falls,
Texas, and seven days thereafter this Ordinance may be finally
acted upon.
SECTION 3. The fact that this tract adjoins the present City
limits of the City of Wichita Falls , Teas , and is being developed,
and city conveniences , fire and police protection, sanitary and
health measures should apply to this tract, creates an emergency
and it is hereby declared that the foregoing Ordinance is an emer-
gency measure on the grounds of urgent public need for the protec-
tion of general welfare, and this Ordinance shall go into effect
immediately upon its passage and approval.
This Ordinance having been introduced on the / - day of
Ale 1961, and having been published in a newspaper
o general circulation in the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, to-wit,
the Wichita Falls Record News on the 1 day of
1961, and seven days after such publication having elapsed, this
Ordinance shall be finally passed and approved this the j
day of 1961.
