RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID FOR THE IMPROVEMENT

OF PORTIONS OF GALVESTON STREET AND PORTIONS
OF SUNDRY OTHER STREETS, AVENUES AND PUBLIC
PLACES IN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS,
AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO PREPARE,EXECUTE
AND FILE WITH THE COUNTY CLERK OF WICHITA.
COUNTY, TEXAS, A NOTICE OF ASSESSMENT LIEN
AGAINST ABUTTING PROPERTIES.

WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita
Falls, Texas, has heretofore ordered that the hereinafter des-
cribed portions of streets, avenues and public places in the
City of Wichita Falls, Texas, be improved as hereinafter set
forth, which said streets, avenues and public places are as
follows, to wit:
GALVESTON STREET, from the west edge of the Virginia
Street paving to the west property line of Mississippi Street,
known and designated as Unit No. 15;
GALVESTON STREET, from the west property line of
Mississippi Street to the east curb line of Mill Street, known
and designated as Unit No. 16;
VAN BUREN STREET, from the south property line of Fifth
Street to the north property line of Sixth Street, known and
designated as Unit No. 17;
BROOK AVENUE, from the south curb line of Fifth Street
to the south property line of Trueheart Street, known and
designated as Unit No. 18;
BROOK AVENUE, from the south property line of Trueheart
Street to the north curb line of Seventh Street, known and
designated as Unit No. 19;
KEMP BOULEVARD, from-the north property line of Avenue
U to the north right-of-way line of the Wichita Valley Railway,
known and designated as Unit No. 20;
KEMP BOULEVARD, from the south property line of Ninth
Street to the north property line of Tenth Street, known and
designated as Unit No. 21;
DENVER AVENUE, from the south curb line of Fifth Street
to the north property line of Seventh Street, known and
designated as Unit No. 22;
AVENUE K, from the west property line of Monroe Street
to the east property line of Polk Street, known and designated
as Unit No. 23
TWELFTH STREET, from the center line of Lamar-Travis
alley to the east property line of Austin Street, known andpy
designated as Unit No. 24;

Each of the hereinabove described portions of streets, avenues
and public places known and designated as Units Nos. 15, 17,
18 20, 21, 22 and 23, to be improved by raising, grading and
filling sameandconstructingthereonasixinchReinforced
Concrete Pavement with monolithic curb constructed integrally;
Each of the hereinabove described portions of Galveston Street
and Brook Avenue, known and designated as Units Nos. 16 and 19
respectively, to be improved by widening and by raising, grading
and filling said widened portions and by constructing on said
widened portions a six inch Reinforced Concrete Pavement with
monolithic curb constructed integrally;
All unpaved and unimproved portions of the hereinabove described
portion of Twelfth Street to be improved by raising, grading and
filling any and all unpaved and unimproved portions and by con-
structing on such unpaved and unimproved portions a six inch
Reinforced Concrete Pavement with monolithic curb constructed
integrally; which said unpaved and unimproved portions are des-
cribed as being
a) The north one-half of that portion of Twelfth
Street lying between the east property line of Travis
Street and the center line of the alley between Lamar
Street and Travis Street; and
b) The south one-half of that portion of Twelfth
sh Street lying between the west property line of Travis
Street and the east property line of Austin Street;
all said improvements to be constructed together with incidental
and appurtenances as and where shown on the plans and in strict
accordance with the plans and specifications therefor; and,

WHEREAS, bids were advertised for and received, fully
tabulated, canvassed and considered, and the Board of Aldermen
after fully considering the same, is of the opinion that the
bid of Stuckey Construction Company is the lowest and most
advantageous and should be accepted; THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE 94
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:

The bid of Stuckey Construction Company for the making
s, , and construction of said improvements on the above described
portions of streets, avenues and public places, filed with the
City of Wichita Falls, Texas, be, and the same is hereby,
accepted and that contract be made and entered into in accord-
ance with the specifications set forth for such bids and. in
accordance with the charter and ordinances of the City of
Wichita Falls, Texas and the laws of the State of Texas.
II.
The City Clerk is directed to prepare, sign and file
with the County Clerk of Wichita County, Texas, a notice in
accordance with the provisions of the Act passed at the Fifth
lied Session of the Forty-First Legislature of the State of
Texas andand shown as Chapter 21 of the Acts of said Session of1T.,' the Legislature, said Act having been passed in the year 1930
E and now shown as Article 1220a of Vernon' s Texas Civil Statutes.C

This resolution shall take effect and be in force and
effect on and after its passage.
