A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID FOR IMPROVEMENT OF THE FOLLOWING HIGHWAYS IN
THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, TO-WIT:
AVENUE K FROM POLK TO SANTA FE
AVENUE U KEMP n GRANT
SPEEDWAY STREET " HOLLIDAY BRIDWELL
TAFT STREET AVENUE H AVENUE J
N. 3RD STREET N. BROADWAY " GRAND AVENUE
POLK STREET BULLINGTON "'` KINGS HIGHWAY.
WHEREAS the City of Wichita Falls has heretofore ordered that

N. 3rd Street N. Broadway "Grand Avenue
Polk Street Bullington "Kings Highway
be improved by raising, grading and by filling the same, and by installing
cement concrete curbs and gutters, and storm sewers and drains where necessary,
and by paving with one or more of the following types of materials, to-wit:
Quadruple inverted penetration asphalt pavement; Texas State Highway
Department Type. Q-modified-Asphalt pavement; Blended Rock asphalt
pavement; and Hot Mix Asphalt pavement, all of which types of pavement
shall be laid on a flexible base.
and thereafter plans and specifications were duly adopted and approved for
such improvement, bids were advertised for and received, and on the 15th day
of May, 1950, such bids were opened, and
WHEREAS the bids received have been fully tabulated, canvassed and
considered and the City Countil, after fully considering the same, is of the
opinion that the bid of Stuckey Construction Company
is the lowest and most advantageous and should be acceptedfor Texas State
Highway Department Type Qmodified-Asphalt pavement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the bid of Stuckey Construction
Company for the making and construction of said improvements
on the above described streets and highways filed with the City of Wichita
Falls, be and the same is hereby accepted, and that contract be made and
entered into in accordance with the specifications set forth for such,
bids and in accordance with the Charter and Ordinances of the City of Wichita
Falls and the laws of the State of Texas.
This resolution shall take effect and be in force and effect on and
after its passage.
