RESOLUTION NO.
WHEEEAS, it has been brought to the attention of the City
Council of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas , that there are a
large number of permanent personnel stationed at Sheppard Air
Force Base adjacent to the City of Wichita Falls , Texas, who
do not have adequate living quarters for their families, and,
WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the City
Council that at this time there is not available in the City
of Wichita Falls sufficient housing to provide adequate quarters
for the Sheppard Air Force Base permanent personnel, and as a
result thereof, an emergency exists ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
TEE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, that the United States Congress be
advised of the urgent necessity of an appropriation to the Army
Air Force to facilitate the construction of dwelling units on
Sheppard Air Force Base, and that a copy of this resolution be
forwarded to the Hon. Tom Connally and the Hon. Lyndon Johnson,
United States Senators from the State of Texas, and the Hon.
Ed Gossett, United States Representative from the 13th Con-
gressional District.
