RESOLUTION NO, 3
WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the City Council
of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, that an emergency exists
with reference to the housing of families of permanent personnel
of Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls , Texas, in that a
large number of said base personnel have no housing facilities
to care for their families, and that the families of other
personnel now have inadequate housing facilities ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, that the Secretary for Air, the Hon.
W. Stuart Symington, be advised of such situation and that he
be requested to apply funds now belonging to his department to
the construction and maintenance of adequate housing units on
Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, Texas, and that a copy
of this resolution be forwarded to the Honorable Secretary.
