Res 23 4/12/1948y RESOLUTION NO. 3 WHEREAS, at a regulat meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls held at the regular meeting place in the Council Room of the Memorial Auditorium Building in said City on the 12th day of April, A. D. 1948, at which a quorum was present, came on to be considered the returns of the city election held on April 6, 1948, for the purpose of electing a mayor and three aldermen, and WfEAS, after canvassing the returns of said election it was found to be duly anA le ally held in all respects, and there were cast at said election cir 9 votes for the election of the Mayor and three Aldermen and tha , For Mayor: Harold Jones received y 7 6 / votes K. C. Spell received O f votes Alton Hanes received votes M. A. (Bill) Bundy received ILA D votes H. F. Hines received votes Bill Hacker received l' votes J.W. Fitzpatrick received votes For Alderman Position 4: J. R. Ray received 4/P 7 votes Coyal Francis received c y votes For Alderman Position 5: John C. Coffey received votes Roy W. Bingham received 7- 7 votes Dermon Short Received Votes And it appearing that Harold Jones received the greatest number of votes cast at said election for Mayor, that J. R. Ray received the greatest number of votes cast at said election for Alderman Position 4, that JohnC. Coffey received the greatest number of votes cast at said election for Alderman Position 5, and that B. C. Hunter received the greatest number of votes cast at said election for Alderman Position 6. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS: That Harold Jones was duly and legally elected Mayor of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, and that J. R. Ray, John C. Coffey, and B. C. Hunter were duly and legally elected Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, at said election and that said election was in all respects legally held in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas and Charter and Ordinances of said City.
