THAT WHEREAS, All incorporated cities and towns in the State
of Texas was authorized by Senate Bill No. 125, approved by the Legis-
lature of Texas on June 12, 1947, to grant the use of a portion of the
Streets and sidewalks of such cities and towns for private purposes
for such consideration and upon such terms as they may prescribe, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls
have determined that the leasing of the property hereinafter described
will not interfere with the public by virtue of the execution of said
lease and the use thereof by the lessee, the following described portion
of 19th Street lying West of Bluff Street, to-wit:
Beginning at the most Northerly corner of Block No. 30,
Jalonic Addition, to the City of Wichita Falls, said point
being in the West line of Bluff Street and the South
line of 19th Street; Thence, Northwesterly along the
West line of Bluff Street 25 ft. to a point 8 ft from
the center line of the Wichita Valley Railway main line
tract; Thence, in a Westerly direction parallel with
and 8 ft. from the center line of the Wichita Valley
main line track approximately 141 ft. to a point; Thence,
in a Southeasterly direction approximately 42 ft. to
a point 50 ft. from the certr line of the railroad track;
Thence, in an Easterly direction approximately 49 feet
to a point in the South line of 19th Street; Thence, in
a Northeasterly direction approximately 90 feet along the
South line of 19th Street to the place of beginning.
AND WHEREAS, The Soap Corporation of America desires to secure
a lease on the above described portion of 19th Street for a period of
Ten (10) years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN AS
FOLLOWS:
That the Mayor be, and he is, hereby authorized to execute a
lease on the above described tract of land leasing the same to the
Soap Corporation of America for a period of ten years for an annual
rental of One Hundred and Fifty ($150) Dollars per year, payable in
advance, said lease to provide that the lessee may terminate said lease
prior to the primary term of same by giving a thirty (30) day written
notice to the City Manager of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas.
