Res 10 9/25/1947 RESOLUTION y 1 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY ATTORNEY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, TO INSTITUTE CONDEMNATION PROCEEDINGS TO ACQUIRE THE FEE TITLE TO THE LANDS BELONGING TO THE HMEINAFTE'R DESIMATED PARTIES TO BE USED BY THE CITY FOR STET PURPOSES. THAT WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls desires to begin street improvements on what is designated as Galveston Street cut-off Highway be- tween U. S. Highway 287 and State Highway 79, located in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, which makes it necessary to the city to acquire from the owners the hereinafter described property, and WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls and the hereinafter described owners have been unable to agree upon the value of the respective property owned by said parties hereinafter described for the damages occasioned by the acquisition of such land and property by the city to be used for street purposes. NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS. SECTION 1: That the City Attorney be, and he is hereby directed to immediately institute condemnation proceedings to acquire the fee simple title to the hereinafter described property belonging to the parties herein named, to-wit: Sandy Jones and Beattie Jones, being the owners of Lot 10, Block 22, J. A. Kemp Addition. Charles Ellison and wife, Maybelle Ellison owners of part of Lot 11, Block 22, J. A. Kemp Addition. C. W. Crockett and wife, Nettie Crocket, omers of part of Lot 12, Block 22, J. A. Kemp Addition. Austin Bolden and wife, Mary Jo Bolden, owner of a part of lots 13 and 14, Block 22, J. A. Kemp addition. James Branch and Susie Hollands, a widow, owners of part of Lots 1 and 2. Block 31, and a part of Lot 14, Block 31, J. A. Kemp Additi on all of said property being located in the City of Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas. Henderson; I am enclosing herewith an original and copy of the Resolution I have prepared to be passed by the Board of Aldermen authorizing me as city attorney to file the Con-- deranation proceedings against the parties set out in the Resolution. I will be out of the city until Thursday morning of next Week and in the event a special meeting should be called please present this Resolution to the Council and advise them that it is necess-:lry to be passed before I can proceed with these suits. All petitions and orders have been drawn and ready for filing. If a special meeting is not called during my absence, I will ask for a meeting upon rW return.
