AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CLASSIFICATION OF ALL FIREMEN UNDER CIVIL
SERVICE EMPLOYED BY THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS; REPEALING, ALL
PRIOR ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT HEREWITH; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the following positions in the Fire Department of
the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, are classified under Civil Service in
compliance with Section $ of Article 1269m, of the Revised Civil Statutes
of Texas, as amended, and they are hereby set out as follows:

POSITIONS AT LARGE: To be filled by appointment rather than
promotion, the same being:
Communication Supervisor
Communication Operator
SECTION 2. No other person employed by the City of Wichita Falls,
may be classified as holding a position under Civil Service with the Fire
Department of said City.
SECTION 3. All prior ordinance or portions thereof inconsistent
herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4 0 The fact that the City of Wichita Falls is in the process
of adopting a new budget requiring the above classifications in its Civil
Service,, and in order to protect the public safety and welfare, the fact
that the present Classification ordinance is now obsolete, creates an
emergency, and it is therefore declared that this Ordinance shall become
effective immediately upon its passage.
