AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1685 (BUILDING CODE)
BY ADOPTING "SOUTHERN STANDARD BUILDING CODE, 1960-61
REVISION" IN LIEU' OF "SOUTHERN STANDARD BUILDING CODE,
1953-54 REVISION", AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 1685 ( the Building Code) _:
is hereby amended by deleting from the first sentence of
Section 1 thereof the words "Southern Standard Building
Code, 1953-51] Revision; and substituting in lieu thereof
the words "Southern Standard Building Code, 1960-61 Revi-
sion. 'o
SECTION 2. The fact that the 1953-54 Revision of the
• Southern Standard Building Code is now obsolete , and that
buildings and structures now being constructed, repaired,
etc . , should conform to modern requirements , creates an
emergency on the ground of urgent public need for the
preservation- of peace, health and safety of property of
the City, and this ordinance shall be effective from and
after the date of its passage.
