AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO . 1911, WHICH AMENDED SECTIONS
7-1001 AND 7-1001.1 OF TITLE 7, CHAPTER 10, OF THE 1941 CODIFICATION
OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS AS THE SAME HAVE BEEN
HERETOFORE AMENDED BY ORDINANCES 1381, 1791, 1804, 1883, AND 1903,
WHICH ORDINANCES AND THEIR AMENDMENTS PROVIDED FOR THE RULES,
REGULATIONS AND RATES FOR THE OPERATION AND MANAGEMENT OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS WATER DEPARTMENT.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 1911, which amended Sec-
tions 7-1001 and 7-1001.1 of Title 7, Chapter 10, of the 1941
Codification of Ordinances of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas,
be and the same is hereby amended, as follows :
There is hereby deleted from said Ordinance No. 1911
the following sentence, "All water, sewer and sanitation accounts
shall be due monthly and must be paid within 25 days from the post
office cancellation date of statement. " In lieu of this deleted
sentence, the following sentence shall be added to Ordinance
No. 1911, "All water, sewer and sanitation accounts shall be due
monthly and must be paid within 15 days from the post office can-
cellation date of statement. "
There is hereby deleted from said Ordinance No . 1911
the following sentence, "The customer shall then have 15 days in
which to pay the water, sewer and sanitation accounts, with pen-
alty. " In lieu of this deleted sentence, the following sentence
shall be added to Ordinance No. 1911, "The customer shall then have
10 days in which to pay the water, sewer and sanitation accounts,
with penalty. "
SECTION 2. Because of the fact that the operation of
the present Ordinance No. 1911 makes it virtually impossible to
make the monthly statements correctly reflect the condition of
the accounts, this ordinance is declared an emergency measure on
the ground of urgent public need for the preservation of the peace ,
health and safety of the property of the city, and same shall
become effective on the first day of January, 1963.
