COMMENT:
At the Civil Service Hearing held on January 24y the Civil Service
Cession ruled that the examination held December 28 for the
Lieutenants? Eligibility List in the Eire Department was void,
for the reason that no notice was posted in the alarm room in

fication must be filled within ninety days after a vacancy occurs;

within ninety dais after a vacancy occurs unless an eligibility
list is in existence.,
As this Lieutenants' Eligibility i ibil ity List has been voided, and the
ninety day period will exp pp
ire approximate],te],- B ry 1, 1963, it
will be impossible to hold new examinations ` ` ,!! these three
vacancies in the lieutenants classification within the time period.
Therefore, we will be in technical,violation of the ordinance
if these vacancies continue t-o east. &,
For this reason, it is the recommendation ome th- he Civil

of lieutenants from 27 to 24.
