AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO, 1999, WHICH PROVIDED
FOR CLASSIFICATION OF ALL POLICEMEN UNDER CIVIL SERVICE,
BY INCREASING THE NUMBER OF SERGEANTS FROM 15 TO 16, AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1, That Ordinance No. 1999, which provided
for the classification of all policemen under Civil Service,
is hereby amended by changing the number of positions in
Classification III , Sergeant, from 15 to 16,
SECTION 2, The fact that the City of Wichita Falls
is instituting a program in which the Police Department
will use trained dogs, and this additional position of ser-
geant is necessary to the program which has already been
commenced, creates an emergency and in order to protect
the public safety and welfare, it is declared that this
ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its
passage.
