AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO . 1752 (WHICH
REQUIRED A HEALTH CERTIFICATE FOR FOOD HANDLERS)
BY DELETING THEREFROM THE REQUIREMENT FOR A
SEROLOGICAL TEST FOR SYPHILIS, AND PROVIDING FOR
THE PAYMENT OF A P ERMI T FEE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Sction 4 of Ordinance No. 1752 is amended so
that it shall hereafter rz ad as follows
"SECTION 4. Any person who i •; required to have a Health
Certificate under this ordinance will make application to
the City Health Department. When an application is made
for a Health Certificate the City Health Department shall
direct the applicant to obtain an X-Ray of the chest, which
study must be repeated at least once yearly. X-Ray of the
chest may be obtained from the Photo-Roengen Unit at the
Wichita General Hospital, State Health Department Mobile
Unit, or any hospital, private physician or other source
approved by the Wichita County Medical Society. The hos-
pital, private physicia:: , or other source shall agree to
hold such X®Rays available for xamination by the Health
Department for at least six months after the date the
Health. Certificate is issued. I lieu of an immediate
chest X-Ray, a report from a source approved by the Wichita
County Medical Society of a" the °t X-Ray made: within the
four months preceding application shall be accepted."
SECTION 2, The first sentence of Section 5 of Ordinance
No. 1752 is amended so that it will hereafter read as follows:
When the report to the Health Department of the X-Ray
of the chest r.veals no evidence of communicable disease,
the H-alth D-partment may issue a Health Certificate, which
Certificate shall expire twelve months from date of
issuance."
SECTION 3. Ordinance No, 1752 is hereby amended by adding
thereto a new section, Section 6(a:), as follows:
"SECTION 6( a) . A fe. of fifty c,-nts shall be charged by
the Health Department for providing the completed Certifi-
cate and maintaining records,"
