AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2007 AND ORDINANCE NO, 1911, WHICH AMENDED SECTIONS
7-1001 F, 7-1001,1 OF TITLE 7, CHAPTER 10, OF THE 1941 COFIFICATION OF ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS AS THE SAME HAVE BEEN HERETOFORE AMENDED, WHICH
ORDINANCES AND THEIR AMENDMENTS PROVIDED FOR THE RULES, REGULATIONS AND RATES FOR
THE OPERATION AND MANAGEMENT. OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS WATER DEPARTMENT,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1, THAT Ordinances No, 2007 and No, 1911, which amended Sections
7-1001 and 7-1001,1 of Title 7, Chapter 10, of the 1941 Codification of Ordinances of
the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, be and the same are hereby amended, as follows:
There is hereby deleted from said Ordinance No, 1911, as amended by Ordinance
No, 1911, as amended by Ordinance No, 2007, the following paragraph:
"All water, sewer and sanitation accounts shall be due monthly and must be
paid within fifteen (15) days from the post office cancellation date of
statement. If not paid by this date, a ten percent (10%)penalty will be
added. The customer shall then have ten (10) days in which to pay the
water, sewer and sanitation accounts, with penalty. At the expiration of
this date, water sewer and sanitation service will be discontinued and will
be restored only with the full payment of the account, plus an additional
charge of One Dollar ($1,00) for disconnecting and restoring service fee,"
In lieu of this deleted paragraph, the following paragraph shall be added to
Ordinance No, 1911:
"All water, sewer and sanitation accounts shall be payable monthly, and shall
carry a due date of approximately ten (10) days after the billing date. If
such bill has not been paid by the billing date of the succeeding month's bill,
then the succeeding month's bill bill include a delinquent notice, which will
state that the customer's service will be disconnected without further notice
unless payment is made on or before the due date, and a reconnect fee of Five
Dollars ($5,00) must be paid before service will be restored. If the full
account has not been paid on or before the due date of the second month's bill,
water, sewer and sanitation services will be discontinued and will be restored
only with the full payment of the account, plus an additional charge of Five
Dollars ($5,00) for disconnecting and restoring service fee,"
SECTION 2, Because of the fact that the present ordinances concerning the due
date of the accounts works a hardship on many customers, this ordinance is declared an
emergency measure on the ground of urgent public need for the preservation of the
peace, health and safety of the property of the City, and same shall become effective
on the 1st day of August , 1963,
