AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO . 1999, AS
AMENDED, WHICH PROVIDED FOR CLASSIFICATION OF ALL
POLICEMEN UNDER CIVIL SERVICE, BY INCREASONG THE
NUMBER OF SERGEANTS FROM 16 TO 17, AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No, 1999, as amended, which
provided for the classification of all policemen under
Civil Service, is hereby amended by changing the number of
positions in Classification III , Sergeant, from 16 to 17.
SECTION 2. The fact that the Police Department needs
an additional sergeant as an outside supervisor creates an
emergency and in order to protect the public safety and
welfare, it is declared that this ordinance shall become
effective immediately upon its passage.
