Res 120 3/26/19511 1\10. / RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ADOPTING ESTIMATES OF ThE COST OF IMPROVEMENTS AND OF AMOUNTS TO BE ASSESSED FOR IMPROVEMENTS ON A PORTION OF BALTIMORE ROAD, AND PORTIONS OF SUNDRY OTHER STREETS, AVENUES, ALLEY AND PUBLIC PLACES IN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, FIXING TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING TO OWNERS OF ABUTTING PROPERTY AND OTHERS INTERESTED, AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO GIVE NOTICE. WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita I Falls, Texas, has heretofore ordered that tne hereinafter des- cribed portions of streets, avenues and public places in the 1 City of Wichita Falls, Texas, known and designated as Units Nos. 26, 40, 41, 43, 48, 49, 55 and 59, each be improved by raising, grading and filling same and by installing and constructing thereon concrete curbs and gutters where not already constructed r" on proper grade and line and by paving same with a Type Q"-Modified Asphalt Pavement on crusned conglomerate flexible base; the hereinafter described portion of Arthur Street, known 2 and designated as Unit No. 56, be improved by raising, grading I and filling same and by constructing thereon a reinforced concrete pavement with integral curbs; and the hereinafter des- cribed portion of Burnett-Bluff Alley, known and designated as Unit ho. 57, be improved by raising, grading and filling same and by constructing thereon a reinforced concrete pavement, together with curb as and where shown and provided for on the plans relating to such improvements; all of which said improve- ments were ordered constructed together with incidentals and appurtenances, including storm sewers and drains, as and where shown on the Plans and in strict accordance with the Plans and Specifications now on file with the City; and, WHEREAS, bids were duly advertised for and received, were fully tabulated, canvassed and considered, and tne bid of Stuckey Construction Company, having been found to be the lowest and most advantageous, was accepted by the City of Wichita Falls, Texas; and, WAEREAS, a form of contract to be executed by the City has heretofore been executed by Stuckey Construction Company and is now on file with the City; and, WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls has caused the City Engineer to prepare and file estimates 1 of the cost of such improvements and estimates of the amounts per front foot proposed to be assessed against abutting prop- erty and the owners thereof, and such estimates have been examined; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: I. Such estimates be and they are hereby, adopted and approved. K. , in the Council Room in the memorial Auditorium in the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, and tne City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice of the time and place of such hearing and of other matters and facts in accordance with and under the terms of the powers and provisions of Chapter 106 of the Acts of the First Called Session of the Fortieth Legis- lature of the State of Texas, now shown as Article 1105b of Vernon' s Texas Civil Statutes, under which law these proceedings are taken and had. Such notice shall be by advertisement inserted at least three times in a newspaper published in the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, the first publication to he made at least ten (10) days before the date of said nearing.
