AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE NAMES OF CERTAIN STREETS WITHIN THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES , OR POR-
TIONS OF ORDINANCES, IN CONFLICT HEREWITH.
WHEREAS, the Planning Board of the City of Wichita Falls has recom-
mended that the Board of Aldermen change the names of certain streets
within the City of Wichita falls; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls believes
that it is in the best interest of said City that such name changes be
made;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS , TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1 . The names of the following streets shall be changed
as shown, effective January 1, 1964:.
1. Seymour Street (Original Townsite) to Farris Street.
2. Virginia Street (South from East Scott) to Jacksboro Highway.
3. Old Lake Road and Grant Street (From F.M. 369 to Arizona Avenue )
to Kemp Boulevard.
. Ozark Avenue to Kessler Avenue .
. Mary Ann Drive (Lincoln Heights ) to Jo Ann Drive.
6. Grand Avenue ( Scotland Addition) to Stratford Avenue .
7 . Wilson Road (East from California Street) to White Street.
SECTION 2. All ordinances or portions of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. The fact that certain conflicts now exist between
the present names of the above streets and other streets in the City
of Wichita Falls which sometimes causes confusion to drivers of emer-
gency vehicles, creates an emergency, and in order to protect the pub-
lic health, welfare, and safety, this ordinance shall be effective
immediately, and the name changes shall be effective at the dates shown
above.
