Ord 2065 12/9/1963 ORDINANCE NO. .2 e 6
AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE CONSUMING OF ALCOHOLIC
BEVERAGES IN THE MEMORIAL AUDITORIUM BUILDING OR ON
THE GROUNDS THEREOF, REGULATING THE USE OF OTHER
BEVERAGES, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. No alcoholic beverages shall be consumed in the Mem-
orial Auditorium building or on the grounds thereof .
SECTION 2. No person shall carry any beverage or drink of any
kind into the auditorium portion of said Memorial Auditorium building.
SECTION 3. Any person violating any of the provisions of this
ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction therefor
shall be fined in a sum not exceeding One Hundred Dollars ( $100) .
SECTION 4.. As the drinking of alcoholic beverages in and about the
Memorial Auditorium building, particularly when large crowds are present
at performances or other functions , is deemed to be detrimental to the
public welfare, this ordinance is declared an emergency measure on the
ground of urgent public need for the preservation of the peace, health
and safety of the property of the City, and it shall be , effective from
and after the date of its passage .
