AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1999, AS AMENDED,
WHICH PROVIDED FOR CLASSIFICATION OF ALL POLICEMEN
UNDER CIVIL SERVICE, BY INCREASING THE NUMBER OF
SERGEANTS FROM 17 TO 18, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, .
TEXAS:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 1999, as amended, which provided
for the classification of all policemen under Civil Service, is
hereby amended by increasing the number of positions in Classifica-
tion III, Sergeants, from 17 to 18.
Section 2 . The fact that the Police Department needs an addi-
tional sergeant as a supervisor creates an emergency, and in order
to protect the public safety and welfare, it is declared that this
ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage.
