AN ORDINANCE MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FROM THE WATER
AND SEWER FUND TO ACCOUNT NO. 111-5, TO BE USED IN
CONNECTION WITH PRELIMINARY WORK ON THE PROPOSED
RESERVOIR AT THE HALSELL SITE, AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS:
There is hereby appropriated out of the Water and Sewer Fund the
sum of $100,000, which shall be placed in Account No. 111-5, to be
used to begin final studies and for purchase of right of way for the
drilling of core holes, and for legal fees, in connection with the
proposed reservoir at the Halsell Site on the Little Wichita River
in Clay County, Texas.
The fact that the present water supply for the City of Wichita
Falls is inadequate for anticipated needs creates an emergency, and
this ordinance is hereby declared an emergency measure on the ground
of urgent public need for the preservation of the peace, health and
safety of property of the City of Wichita Falls, and therefore this
ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage.
