ORDINANCE NO. 6 q s
AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING COMMERCIAL ACTIVITIES AT THE WICHITA
FALLS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT WITHOUT EXPRESS WRITTEN AUTHORITY FROM
THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS; PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE
VIOLATION THEREOF; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
Section 1 , That from and after the effective date of this ordinance
no person, association, partnership or corporation shall use the Wichita
Falls Municipal Airport for the purpose of carrying on any commercial acti-
vity; for the carrying for hire of passengers, freight, express or mail;
for the instruction in aviation in any of its branches ; for the conduct of
any phase of any aviation activity; for the sale of fuel or refreshments;
or, for any other commercial purpose, unless by express written permission
from the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, or its duly authorized agents®
Section 2. Any person, association, partnership, corporation or any
agent of such person, association, partnership or corporation violating
any provision of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon
conviction, shall be fined not less than Twenty-Five Dollars ($25) , nor
more than Two Hundred Dollars ($200) . Each day this ordinance is violated
shall be a separate offense.
Section 3 . The fact that the City of Wichita Falls will assume con-
trol of the Wichita Falls Municipal Airport on June 1, 1964, and has
entered into certain contracts for the operation of said airport, which
contractual obligations must be protected, creates an emergency; for the
immediate preservation of the peace, health and safety of the property
of the City of Wichita Falls so that this ordinance shall become effective
as of June 1, 1964.
