Res 294 5/9/1956RESOLUTION NO.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Aldermen of the City
of Wichita Falls, Texas:
That the City of Wichita Falls immediately withdraw
its present claim for damages against the United States of
America and the United States Air Force heretofore filed, in
the amount of two and one-ha:if million dollars, but without
prejudice to its right to re-file the same in the event it p
cares to do so.
That the City Attorney be directed to withdraw said
claim immediately and that an alternative c1, im be filed

in the nature of a request for funds for 14e rpcating the
present municipal air port of the City of Wichita'Falls and
withdrawing the same from the Sheppard Air Force Base proper-
ties; that the City Attorney proceed forthwith to file a
claim in the amount of two and one-half million dollars with
the United States Air Force, said funds to be used by the
City of Wichita Falls, or some other duly authorized govern-
mental agency selected by the City of Wichita Falls, for the
purpose of re-locating the present municipal air port and
that such claim be filed through regular channels with the
United States Air Force.
