RESOLUTION NO.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS:
THAT the Wichita Falls Boat Club is hereby granted
permission to hold its Spring Regatta on Lake Wichita, on
the 15th day of May, A. D. 1955, and for the week prior
thereto permission is granted any rider participating in
such Meet the use of Lake Wichita for testing trial runs.
This permission is granted in accordance with the
request of the Boat Club, which agrees to indemnify and
hold the City harmless from any claim or claims arising
in the premises, and further agrees to keep such premises
clean and sanitary.
On the date of the race exclusive right of entry and
exit to the City-owned property on the North shores of Lake
Wichita is granted the Boat Club in order that they may
collect nominal admission fees.

Attention: Mr . John Ruhman, Director Public Utilities
Dear Sir:
In compliance with the permission granted us by the board of
Aldermen, as has been the regular procedure in the past, on May 15,
1955, the Wichita Falls Boating Club proposed to hold our regular
annual sanctioned boat race on the waters of Lake Wichita under the
following terms and conditions:
1 . Boating, fishing, and the like in the racing and testing
area will be prohibited as a safety precaution.- The racing area will
be marked by buoys and patrolled by members of the Wichita Falls Police
Department by boat (several members of the Police Department are mem-
bers of the Boating Club) . These restrictions should begin at 6 A. M.
and continue until the races are finished .
Z. Parking area for cars, that is requested will be on the old
Sail Boat Club lands and the city owned land adjacent thereto, which is
under the jurisdiction of the Park Department . At least one member of
the Police Department and members of the Boat Club will be on duty
at all times to see that cars are parked on a safe and orderly fashion.
3 . No piers or obstructions of any kind will be left on the lake
shore or in the lake proper . Due regard will be made to protect the
purity of the lake as -a water supply and exacting cleanliness standards
will be observed .
4. The premises will be carefully cleaned both before and after tIE
dace by the Club and trash barrels will be furnished for public use during
the day. These barrels will likewise be removed.
5 . No claim of any kind will be made against the City for any reason
either by members of the Boat Club or by participants in the race and the
Boat Club will hold the City harmless against any claims of any kind or
character that might arise out of the use of this lake.
6 . <:If these requirements and representations meet with your approval ,
kindly note your acceptance hereon and the same will be strictly followed.
