RESOLUTION NO. I
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT tO SIGN THE TRUCK
ROUTE TO THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FATJS,
TEXAS:
AREAS, the City has designated by law a truck route through the City
of Wichita Falls and has duly marked the same, and
WHEREAS, the absence of uniform State Highway markings are confusing to
the traveling public who are required to use such truck route,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMENEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, That the State Highway Department be requested to
properly sign said truck route as follows:
For toutes over U.S. 287 and 281:
Beginning on Scott Street at a point where the Wichita
Valley Railway Company and Wichita Falls & Southern
tracks intersect Scott;
Thence at aisumkgkaxklutmaxt an angle northeastward to
Indiana Avenue at lath Street;
Thence on Indiana to the intersection on 12th Street;
Vence east on 12th Street to Ohio Avenue;
Thence on Ohio Avenue to 5th Street;
Thence West on 5th Street to Scott Avenue.
U.S. 82 is to follow the same route save and except it shall proceed
from Ohio Avenue to Scott Avenue on 6th Street.
PASSED AND APPROVED this the 27th day of October, A.D. 1952.
