AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 1416, AS AMENDED,
TO INCLUDE THE TERM BEER IN SECTION 1, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the first paragraph of Section 1 of Ordinance No.
141 6, as amended, be amended to read as follows:
"That no spiritous, vinous, malt liquors or beer shall be sold within
the corporate limits of the City of Wichita Falls, Wichita County,
Texas, and that no license or permit shall be issued for the sale
of same, either by the State of Texas, County of Wichita or City of
Wichita Falls, except within the following described area, and
within the boundaries herein set out, to-wit: " .
Section 2. The fact that there is a possibility that beer is not
included within the prohibition of Ordinance No. 1416, as amended, thereby
allowing the sale of beer within the residential districts of the City of
Wichita Falls, thereby jeopardizing the peace and health of the City of
Wichita Falls creates an emergency, and this ordinance is hereby declared
an emergency on the ground of urgent public need for the Preservation of
peace, health and safety of property, and this ordinance shall take effect
from and after its passage and approval.
