ORDINANCE NO. c7W7
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2022 (THE 1963 ELECTRICAL
CODE OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS) , AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE
2104, CHANGING THE LICENSE FEE FOR A MASTER ELECTRICIAN AND
AN INDUSTRIAL ELECTRICIAN, AND MAKING OTHER PROVISIONS RELA-
TIVE TO LICENSE RENEWAL OF ELECTRICIANS, AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Article III, Section 1 of Ordinance No. 2022, as
amended, is hereby amended so that the first two sentences of the
sixth paragraph thereof shall hereafter read as follows:
"A successful applicant shall pay to the Secretary, the sum of
fifty dollars ($50.00) as the first year' s license fee. The fifty
dollars ($50 .00) must be paid within thirty (30) days after the
grading of the examination paper and prior to beginning work;
otherwise, the examination shall be null and void. "
SECTION 2. Article III, Section 1 of Ordinance No. 2022, as
amended, is hereby amended so that the tenth 'paragraph thereof shall
hereafter read as follows:
"The license may be renewed by paying to the Secretary the sum
of ten dollars ($10 .00) within thirty (30) days after the expiration
date of the original license.
SECTION 3. Article III, Section 5 of Ordinance No. 2022, as
amended, is hereby amended so that the fifth paragraph thereof shall
hereafter read as follows:
"A successful applicant shall pay to the Secretary the sum of
fifty dollars ($50.00) as the first year' s license fee. The fifty
dollars ($50.00) must be paid within thirty (30) days after the
grading of the' examination paper and prior to beginning work; other-
wise, the examination shall be null and void. In case of failure to
pass the examination, an applicant must wait ninety (90) days before
being allowed to take another,. examination and a waiting period of
six (6) months will be required between the second and third exam-
ination and between all subsequent examinations. The waiting periods
commence on the date the examination paper is graded. The fee of
ten. dollars ($10.00) shall be required for each examination. "
SECTION 4. Article III, Section 5, of Ordinance No. 2022, as
amended, is hereby amended so that the ninth -paragraph thereof shall
hereafter read as follows:
"The license may be renewed by paying to the Secretary the sum
of ten dollars ($10.00) within thirty (30) days after the expiration
date of the original license. "
SECTION 5. When an electrician has not obtained permits for
electrical work within a three (3) year period in the City of Wichita
Falls, it will be his responsibility to prove that he is actively

engaged in the electrical business in order to obtain a license
renewal. If such evidence of activity is found by the examining
board of the Electrical Advisory Board to be lacking then they
shall require the applicant to take the applicable examination to
show that said applicant is qualified.
SECTION 6. Due to the fact that all licenses granted under
Ordinance No. 2022, as amended, expire on December 31 of this
year creates an urgent public need for the preservation of the
peace, health and safety of property of the City of Wichita Falls
and an emergency is hereby declared that this Ordinance become
effective immediately upon passage.
