AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 7-1001 AND 7-1001. 1
OF TITLE 7 , CHAPTER 10 OF THE 1941 CODIFICATION OF
ORDINANCES OF WICHITA FALLS, AS AMENDED, INCREASING
THE WATER RATES TO BE CHARGED BY THE CITY, AND AM-,
ENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1510, AS AMENDED, INCREASING
THE SEWER RATES.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Section 7-1001 of Title 7, Chapter 10 of the 1941
Codification of Ordinances of the 'City of Wichita Falls, and Section
7-1001. 1 of the said title and chapter be and the same are hereby
amended so as to read as follows, to wit:
"SECTION 7-1001
The following rates are hereby established and ,shall hereafter be
collected by the Water Department of the City of Wichita Falls, ¢pro
and after February 1, 1965.
The following water rates shall apply to all water users, res-
idential, commercial, and industrial with the exception that service
outside the corporate limits shall be two times the rate charged
inside the corporate limits based upon the following computation:
The minimum monthly bill for all metered, water service shall- be
• $2.00 for which amount each customer shall be allowed four hundred
. (400) cubic feet of water.
For larger consumption the rate shall be as follows, to wit:
The next 400 cubic feet of water at 50¢ per hundred
The next 6,000 cubic feet of water at 35¢, per hundred
The next 60, 000 cubic feet of water at 30¢ per hundred
The next 66,800 cubic feet of water at 25¢ per hundred
The next 133, 700 cubic- feet of water at 22¢ per hundred
The next 668, 400 cubic feet of water at 19¢ per hundred
In excess of 935, 700 cubic feet- of water at 15¢ per hundred
All services for water, sewer and sanitation shall be billed
together.
All water, sewer and sanitation accounts shall be payable
monthly and shall carry a due date of approximately ten (10) days
after the billing date. If such bill has not been paid by the
billing date of the succeeding month' s bill, then the succeeding -
month' s bill will include a delinquent notice, which will state that
the customer' s service will be discontinued without further notice
unless payment is made on or before the due date, and a re-connect
fee of $5.00 must be paid before service will be restored. If the
full amount has not been paid on or before the due date of the second
month' s bill, water, sewer and sanitation services will be discontinued
and will be restored only with the full payment of the account plus
an additional charge of $5.00 for disconnecting and restoring service
fee.

All utility customers shall put up a deposit as heretofore
provided. No interest payment shall accumulate on deposits for
these utility services.
The above schedule of rates shall not apply to persons, firms,
and corporations residing beyond the city limits of the City of Wichita
Falls, or having and maintaining places of business outside the city
limits of said City, but:. such persons shall pay twice the rate as
above described, and the minimum charge for such service shall be
$4.00 per month. "

SECTION 2 . Ordinance No. 1510, as amended, is hereby amended
so that Section A shall hereafter read as follows:
"A. For residential users, the sewer charge shall be determined
by the water consumption, and the minimum charge shall be $1. 25 per
month for each residence whose water consumption for the month did
not exceed 800 cubic feet.
For larger consumption, the rate shall be as follows, to wit:
The next 700 cubic feet of water; 5¢ per hundred
The next 5 , 300 cubic feet of water; 2/ per hundred
In excess of 6,800 cubic feet of water; 1¢ per hundred"
SECTION 3. Ordinance No. 1510, as amended, is hereby amended
by deleting therefrom Section D.

SECTION 4. Ordinance No. 1510, as amended, is hereby amended
so that Section 5 thereof shall hereafter read as follows:
"Section 5. The schedule of rates for sewer chargesset forth
above shall not apply to persons, firms and corporations residing
or having their places of business outside the city limits of the
City of Wichita Falls ; the rate for all sewer services provided
outside the city limits shall be twice the rate above prescribed, and
the minimum charge for such persons, firms and corporations outside
the city limits shall be $2. 50 per month. "
SECTION 5. The fact that the City is beginning the construction -
of a new lake which will require additional revenue from the sale of
water, creates an emergency for the preservation of the health and
safety of the public, and this ordinance is declared an emergency
measure which shall become effective upon its passage
