AN ORDINANCE AMEN: I] G ORDINANCE NO. 1688, AS
AMENDED (THE WICHITA FALLS PLUMBING CODE) TO
PROVIDE THE METHOD WJEREBY PERMITS SHALL BE
ISSUED COVERING PLUM 3ING WO RK ON CITY PROPERTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOA'ZD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 1688, as amended (The Wichita Falls
Plumbing Code) is hereby amended by adding thereto Article 16 under
Section III, to wit:
"Article 16: Permits for Work on City-Owned Property.
Notwithstanding any other provisions contained in this code to
the contrary, whenever any plumbing is to be done on any property
owned by the City of Wichita Falls, the department head having juris-
diction over such property shall submit to the City Inspection Depart-
ment for approval the plans for such plumbing. If such plans are
found to be in compliance with this code and other ordinances, a
permit shall be issued by the Chief Plumbing Inspector. Such work
may then be done by qualified City personnel, and shall be done in
full compliance with this code and all other applicable City ord-
inances. "
SECTION 2 . Ordinance No. 1688, as amended, is hereby amended
by deleting therefrom Paragraph (ID) of Section IV, Article 8, which
concerns the waiver of Plumbing Permit Fees in certain circumstances.
SECTION 3. The fact that there is now certain plumbing work
that needs to be done on City-owned property creates an emergency
for the preservation of health and safety, and this ordinance is
declared to be an emergency measure which shall become effective
immediately upon its passage.
