Ord 2232 5/9/1966 ORDINANCE NO. 2232 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2022 (THE 1963 ELECTRICAL CODE OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS) MAKING CHANGES WITH REFERENCE TO SELECTION OF INSPECTOR, AND REQUIREMENTS TO QUALIFY FOR MASTER ELECTRICIAN AND JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. Article I, Section I, General, of Ordinance No. 2022 is hereby amended so that the fourth paragraph thereof shall hereafter read as follows: "The Board shall submit periodically to the City Council and (or) to the City Manager a written recommendation and suggestions for the improvement, enforce- ment and administration of this ordinance. The Board shall examine the qualifica- tions of all applicants for the office of the Electrical Inspector and Assistant Inspector. The Board shall adopt rules, regulations and policies for all the func- tions of the Board and for the examination and re-examination of applicants for electrical licenses, electrical inspector or inspectors. No rule, regulation or policy shall be applicable unless it has been incorporated in the minutes of a regular meeting of the Board prior to its application." SECTION 2. Article III, Section I of Ordinance No. 2022 is hereby amended so that the first paragraph thereof shall hereafter read as follows: "A person desiring a Master Electrician's (Electrical Contractor's) license shall be a citizen of the United States, shall have reached the age of twenty-one (21) years and shall make application in writing to the Board of Electrical Examiners for an examination. Examination shall be held at the regular meeting periods." SECTION 3. Article III, Section I of Ordinance No. 2022 is hereby amended so that the third paragraph thereof shall hereafter read as follows: "The applicant shall submit himself to an examination given by the Board. The examination shall consist of questions concerning electrical installations, the National Electrical Code, and other topics related to the occupation of a Master Electrician (Electrical Contractor). The applicant must furnish the Secretary con- clusive proof of at least five (5) years' experience, giving dates and location in the business as an Electrical Contractor, Journeyman Electrician whose experience record meets the requirements for journeyman electrician as described in Article III, Section 2 of this ordinance, or a combination of the two, or the satisfaction of the Board of Examiners. A holder of a completion certificate from an accredited Techni- cal School or College may be given credit not to exceed three (3) years of the re- quired five (5) years' experience. Falsification of an experience record shall be justification for the Board's refusal to grade an examination paper or to cancel a license. SECTION 4. Article III, Section 2 of Ordinance No. 2022 is hereby amended so that the first two paragraphs thereof shall hereafter read as follows: "A person desiring a Journeyman Electrician's license shall be a citizen of the United States, reached the age of twenty-one (21) years, and shall make application for the issuance of a license to the Secretary. Examinations shall be held at the regular meeting periods." "The applicant shall submit himself to a written or oral examination prepared by the Board. The examination shall consist of questions concerning electrical installations, the National Electrical Code and other topics related • to the conclusive proof of at least four (4) years actual experience, giving dates, locations, and the employer's name in the installation of electrical ma- terials, and equipment or the equivalent thereof to the satisfaction of the Board of Examiners. This experience shall include but not be limited to the installation of electrical materials, and equipment, or the equivalent thereof, in or on private, residential, commercial, industrial, and public properties. Falsification of an experience record shall be justification for refusal to give an examination or to cancel a license. If a license is cancelled due to falsi- fication of an experience record, no refund_or..any portion of the license fee shall be made."
