" A RESOLUTION CANVASSING RETURNS OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, ON APRIL 4 , 1961, FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING ALDERMEN FOR POSITIONS NO . 1, NO . 2, AND NO. 3, AND ON THE QUESTION OF THE ADOPTION OF A COMPREHENSIVE ZONING ORDINANCE. WHEREAS, at a regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, held in the Memorial Auditorium Building on the 10th day of April, A. D. 1961, at which time a quorum was present, came on to be considered the returns of the Municipal Election held on the 4th day of April, A. D. 1961, for the purpose of electing aldermen for positions No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 and on the adoption of a comprehensive zoning ordinance ; and WHEREAS, after canvassing the returns of said election it was found to be duly and legally held in all respects , and there were cast at said election J/ 3 92/ votes, for the election of 3) three aldermen and on the a option elf a comprehensive zoning ordinance; and that FOR ALDERMAN, POSITION 1 : John H. McBride received Robert M. (Bob) Foley Roger E. Thoes 7 / AND, it appearing that J. Winston Wallander received the greatest number of votes cast at said election for Alderman, Position 1; that Dr . D. Clifford Burross received the greatest number of votes cast at said election for Alderman, Position 2; that 0. D. McBride received the greatest number of votes cast at said election for Alderman, Position 3; and 5,, ) WHEREAS, the proposition of for the adoptionAef a comprehen- sive zoning ordinance eceived a greater number of votes than the proposition against;' ant NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT J. Winston Wallander, Dr. D. Clifford Burross , and 0 . D. McBride were duly and legally elected Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas , at said election, and the proposition for the adoption of a comprehensive zoning ordinance carried, and that said election was in all respects legally held in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas and the Charter and Ordinances of the City of Wichita Falls.
