Res 435 12/6/1960ilr RESOLUTION NO. 435 WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls currently owns two lakes which are used for municipal water supply, to wit: Lake Wichita located on Holliday Creek and Lake Kickapoo located on the Little Wichita River, and WHEREAS, the people of Wichita Falls are voting on another reservoir on the Little Wichita River, and WHEREAS, all of the entire water supply of the City of Wichita Falls, both present and future, drains through oil producing areas, and WHEREAS, the possibility of salt water polution to domestic water supply is one that demands constant vigilance, and WHEREAS, there are currently both State and local laws for the purpose of controlling salt water polution, and WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls desire to help in all ways possible in controlling salt water polution. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS : THAT, the Board of Aldermen pledges its full coopera- tion to both the proper State enforcement officials concerned with polution and the Red River Valley Authority in preventing any present or future polution on the water sheds of the rivers and streams supplying the municipal water supply for the City of Wichita Falls, Texas.
