WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, is the owner
of certain lands in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas which
lands formerly belonged to the Wichita Falls Baseball Club, Inc. ,
and
WHEREAS, the Young Men's Christian Association of Wichita
Falls is the owner of a certain tract of land adjacent to those
lands owned by the City of Wichita Falls, and
WHEREAS, the Young Men's Christian Association has raised
a large sum of money through contributions to be used on the build-
ing of a branch Young Men's Christian Association, and
WHEREAS, the land owned by the Young Men's Christian
Association is not of sufficient size to house the type building
that is needed , and
WHEREAS, the land owned by the said City of Wichita Falls
is encumbered by a revisionary clause, and
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls Baseball Club, Inc, and/or its
assigns have agreed to convey certain lands to the Young Merits
Christian Association, if the City of Wichita Falls will convey the
same to the Wichita Falls Baseball Club, Inc.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Aldermen of
the City of Wichita Falls that the mayor is hereby authorized and
directed to execute a deed to the Wichita Falls Baseball Club, Inc.
on the following described tract of land :
BEING a part of' Lot Nu giber 5, Section Number 12 of' the J.
A. Scott Survey, Wichita County, Texas, described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point 149 feet West and 100 feet North of
the SE/corner of the 20.3 acre tract conveyed by Wichita Falls
Baseball Club, Inc. to the City of' Wichita Falls on January 1, 1947,
recorded in the Deed Records of Wichita County, Texas, and being
the NE/corner of that same tract conveyed by Wichita Falls Baseball
Club, Inc. to the Young Men's Christian Association of' Wichita Falls,
a charitable corporation;
THENCE North from said point 80 feet on a line parallel to
Smith Street to a corner;
THENCE West 220 feet on a line parallel to Tulsa Street to
a corner;
THENCE South 80 feet on a line parallel to Smith Street to
a corner;
THENCE East 220 feet to the place of beginning.
