BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of .Aldermen of the City of
Wichita Falls, Texas:
THAT the City of Wichita Falls respectfully requests the
Post Office Department of the United States of America to
re-- examine the advisability of closing the Montoe Street Sub-
station, in order that the people in such area may be adequately.
served by, convenient and nearby postal facilities.
That the City further respectfully requests the Post Office
Department to consider extending its postal facilities in this
community rather than to curtail them, and in this connection -'
would suggest that there are at least two or three other lo-
cations in this community: one in North Wichita; one in
Southmoor Addition,_.and possibly others in addition to :Parker
Square, that would appreciate a local sub - station, whereby
they could readily obtain postal services.
That the Board of .Aldermen further commends the Post
Office Department for setting up a sub - station in- Parker Square
and commends the department for its consideration of the en-
largement thereof.
That this Motion is made for the purpose of permitting
the Post Office Department to know the feeling of the people of
Wichita Falls in thcs;e °matters and to suggest to such Depart-
ment that a farther overall study of the postal facilities in
this community be made.
That this Resolution is not a criticism of any kind or
character of the postal services, particularly of the main
Post Office in the Federal Building here, but merely a request
on the part of this City to the Past Office Department to
enlarge Lather than to curtail its postal facilities to the
general public.
