WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Board of Aldermen of
the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, to have available, any and
all means under the law, to assist the City of Wichita Falls
in obtaining additional and a sufficient water supply for
the municipality; and ,
WHEREAS, there are now pending negotiations between the
City of Wichita Falls and the Wichita County Water Control
and Improvement District No. 1, with reference to financing
an additional water supply for the City of Wichita Falls; and ,
WHEREAS, the said District desires additional legal au-
thor ization for extending its boundaries; Now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Aldermen of the City of
Wichita Falls , Texas , that they request the Board of Directors
of Wichita County Water Control & Improvement District No. 1
to cause to be prepared and submitted a proposed bill providing
legal authority for making the boundaries of the Wichita County
Water Control & Improvement District No. lco-extensive with
the boundaries of the municipality of the City of Wichita Falls ,
Texas, In this connection, it is hereby resolved that the
City of Wichita Falls cooperate with the District and other
interested groups for the purpose of encouraging our State
Senator and Representatives to use all due diligence in secur-
ing the passage of such legislation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the City of
Wichita Falls call a public meeting to be held in the Council
Room of the Municipal Auditorium, in the City of Wichita Falls,
a week from this date, inviting the Water District Board
Members , representatives from the Chamber of Commerce, Real
Estate Board , the Realty profession, Progressive Citizens
Association, and other interested groups and citizens to attend
for the purpose of discussing the proposed legislation, to the
end that all such groups and the citizenship of the City of
Wichita Falls shall cooperate to support the proposed legis-
lat ion.
By the use of " legislation" is meant any type of legis-
lation which may be necessary to secure an adequate water
supply for the City of Wichita Falls.
