WHEREAS, Ordinance 306, brought forward as Section 9-201
of the Codification of Ordinances of the City of Wichita Falls ,
Texas, 1941 , provides that under certain conditions, the construct-
ion, reconstruction or repairs of sidewalks , driveways or curbing
should be under the supervision of the City Engineer , and , in ac-
cordance with the plans and specifications as may be prepared by
the City Engineer under the direction of the City Council, and ,
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita
Falls , desires to delegate its authority under such ordinance to
the Director of Public Works of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That in all instances
of permits required from the City Engineer in the construction, re-
construction or repairs of sidewalks, driveways or curbing, the
said plans and specifications shall be prepared by the City
Engineer and the plans and specifications for such work shall be
approved by the Director of Public Works of the City of Wichita
Falls , Texas, whose approval or rejection thereof shall be final ,
and any further consent or authority from the Board of Aldermen
shall not be necessary.
