AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE KEEPING, BREEDING, '
RAISING OR POSSESSION OF POISONOUS REPTILES •
WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. It shall hereafter be unlawful for any
person or persons to breed, raise, keep or have in their
possession poisonous reptiles within the corporate limits
of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, except those kept by
educational and scientific institutions. These institu-
tions will be subject to initial approval and periodic
inspections by the Director of Public Health, or under
his direction.
SECTION 2. Any person or persons breeding, raising,
or keeping poisonous reptiles, and any person having in
their possession or having on or about their premises any
poisonous reptiles, with the intent to keep, possess, raise,
or breed the same within the corporate limits of said City
shall be deemed guilty of a nuisance and on conviction
thereof shall be fined on any sum not less than Twenty-Five
and No/100 Dollars ($25.00) and not more than Two Hundred
and No/100 Dollars ($200.00) .
SECTION 3. The intent to commit the offense set out
in this ordinance is presumed whenever the means used is
such as would ordinarily result in the commission of the
forbidden act.
