AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, BY ANNEXING CERTAIN LANDS
ADJACENT TO THE PRESENT TERRITORIAL LIMITS OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, WICHITA COUNTY, TEXAS ; ALL
OF WHICH ARE FULLY DESCRIBED IN THIS ORDINANCE.
(SERVICE STATION SITE AT U.S. 287 AND WINDTHORST
ROAD)
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION I. That the following tract of land located in
Wichita County, Texas, be and the same is hereby ordered to be
annexed and to be included within the corporate limits of the
City of Wichita Falls, Texas, and the corporate limits be ex-
tended so as to include said tract of land in Wichita County,
Texas, the same being more particularly described as follows:
Being 0 .8434658 acres of land out of Kemp-
Newby Subdivision of Cherokee County School
Land, A-33, Wichita County, Texas; said
0 .8434658 acres being described by metes and
bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at the present City Limit line
in Old Windthorst Road Right-of-Way as described
in City Ordinance No. 1748 dated 27 February, A.D.
1956;
THENCE West 244. 6 feet;
THENCE S 00°10 ' W, 149.4 feet to the North
Right-of-Way line of U.S. Expressway 287 ;
THENCE S 89°50 ' E, 243.49 feet;
THENCE North 151. 51 feet to the point of
beginning.
SECTION II. In conformity with Section 6 of Article 970a
of the Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, before these annexation
proceedings were instituted, the Board of Aldermen called a
public hearing on May 8, 1967, to provide an opportunity for all
interested persons to be heard; notice of such hearing was pub-
lished once in the Wichita Falls Record News not more than twenty
(20) days nor less than ten (10) days prior to the public hearing.
Such public hearing was held on May 8, 1967, which was not more
than twenty (20) days nor less than ten (10) days prior to the
institution of these annexation proceedings.
SECTION III. In conformity with Section 3-A of the amended
Charter of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, this ordinance is on
the -cG6 day of May, 1967, introduced and the City Clerk is di-
rected to publish said ordinance one (1) time in a newspaper of
general circulation published in the City of Wichita Falls, Texas,
and seven (7) days thereafter this ordinance may be finally acted
upon.
