AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF
THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, BY ADDING
SECTION 15. 38, PROHIBITING THE KEEPING, HAVING
IN POSSESSION, USE OF OR PERMITTING THE USE OF
CARBON TETRACHLORIDE FIRE EXTINGUISHER WITHIN
THE CITY LIMITS, PROVIDING FOR ENFORCEMENT,
PROVIDING A FINE FOR VIOLATION; DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The Code of Ordinances of the City of
Wichita Falls is amended by adding a Section to be numbered
15 .38, to read as follows :
"Section 15.38. Carbon tetrachloride fire extinguisher,
prohibited.
(a) It shall hereafter be unlawful for any person or
persons to keep, have in their possession, or on their premises,
to use or permit the use of a carbon tetrachloride fire extin-
guisher within the City Limits of the City of Wichita Falls,
Texas.
(b) This Section shall be enforced by the Fire Marshal
of the City or his authorized representative. "
SECTION 2. Any person who violates any provision of

this ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not exceeding Two
Hundred Dollars ($200 .00) . Each day any violation of this ordi-
nance shall continue shall constitute a separate offense.
SECTION 3. The fact that many people live within the
City of Wichita Falls and that certain precautions are necessary
when using a carbon tetrachloride fire extinguisher and the fact
that many people are unfamiliar with the dangers involved in the
use of this type of extinguisher and there is an urgent need for
their protection, this ordinance is declared an emergency mea-
sure on the ground of urgent public need for the preservation
of the peace, health and safety of life of the citizens of the
City and said ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its
passage.
