RESOLUTION NO. *00
WHEREAS, the reopening this week of the renovated Memorial Auditorium
marks a milestone in the City of Wichita Falls, because, for the first time,
the City has available a first class facility which will be available for all
types of entertainment and cultural and educational productions throughout
the twelve months of the year; and,
WHEREAS, the auditorium is now beautiful in appearance; comfortable
during all the seasons, and has excellent acoustics and sound system, which
qualities will not only increase the enjoyment of the shows and productions
which have heretofore been presented by local civic organizations, but will
also attract new productions to the City; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen recognizes the great contribution to the
citizens of the City which is made by such civic organizations as the Wichita
Falls Symphony Orchestra, the Broadway Theatre League, Inc„ , the Wichita Falls
Ballet Theatre, the North Texas Civic Music Association and many other such
similar civic organizations .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, That the week commencing September 27 , 1964 , be and it
is hereby proclaimed "Auditorium Week” in the City of Wichita Falls, and the
citizens of the City are encouraged to be present for the dedication of
the renovated auditorium and the opening show to be held at 7 : 30 P .M, on
Thursday night, October 1, 1964, and,
Further, that the citizens be encouraged to support the membership
drives of the Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra, the Broadway Theatre League,
Inc. , the Wichita Falls Ballet Theatre, the North Texas Civic Music Associa-
tion and all the other similar civic organizations who have done so much to
provide for Wichita Falls and the surrounding areas entertainment and cul-
tural activities.
