WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas,
feels that the Squadron Adoption Program which was instituted for the
single purpose of creating a better understanding between members of
the civilian and military communities of Wichita Falls has truly met
with success in this endeavor; and,
WHEREAS, at the time of the passage of this resolution some twenty-
seven (27) civic groups and institutions within the City of Wichita Falls
are actively participating in the program with military personnel sta-
tioned at Sheppard Air Force Base; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls feels
that a special commendation should be given to Colonel Floyd Taylor,who
conceived and organized the Squadron Adoption Program, and those who
have actively supported its cause' and have become participants therein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
THAT the Board of Aldermen recognize that the Squadron Adoption
Program has intensified the mutual understanding and spirit of coopera-
tion between the civilian and military citizenry of Wichita Falls -
remaining untainted by either commercial, financial or personal gain
on the part of any of its participants - and in recognition thereof
we do hereby pass this resolution as a public commendation of its
principles and success and enjoin the citizens of Wichita Falls to
perpetuate its cause.
