Res 502 2/11/1963RESOLUTION NO. S-02,
WHEREAS, the business citizens of Wichita Falls,
Texas, have banded together in one of the greatest challenges
and endeavors ever attempted in the history of Wichita Falls,
through a program to raise one million dollars ($1,000,000)
for industrial development purposes ; and;
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita
Falls realize the need for industrial development, and feel
that this endeavor will do much toward balancing and streng-
thening the economy of our area by adding industrial payrolls ,
which will provide employment for many of the present citi-
zenry; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen are confident that
this challenge will be met and this program accomplished with
the cooperation of all of our citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDER-
MEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, that the City of
Wichita Falls does hereby give its wholehearted encouragement
and support to Industrial Development, Inc. in its campaign
to raise one million dollars ($1;OOO,0O0) and in its ultimate
goal of attracting new business and industry to the City of
Wichita Falls ,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Aldermen, as
official representatives of the City and as individual citi-
zens, do hereby pledge that we will do all within our power
to create and maintain the type of ;over:,iment and business
atmosphere that will make Wichita Falls attractive and con-
ducive to industrial and economic growth.
