WEREAS, the State Highway Commission by Minute Order No. 50445
passed December 1,1961, provides for the designation of a temporary routing
of U.S. Highway 287 Expressway from the new route of U.S. Highway 287 at
18th Street easterly a distance of approximately 0.8 mile to the intersection
of the present U.S. Highway 287 route at the intersection of Galveston Street,
making use of 18th Street, Austin Street, and Galveston Street, and provides
for the general responsibilities of the City and of the State in connection
with said designation.
WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the traveling public to provide
for the safe and reasonable movement to and from the newly completed portion
of the U.S. Highway Expressway Facility.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEIAS, THAT:
The provisions of Highway Commission Minute Order No. 50445 be
accepted and the City Manager is hereby authorized to sign a construction
and maintenance agreement with the State Highway Department covering the pro-
ject details.
