BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The provisions of Minute No. 58020 passed by the Texas
Highway Commission on June 30th, 1966, are acceptable to the
City of Wichita Falls. It is hereby ordered that the City of
Wichita Falls cooperate with the State Highway Department and
proceed with the obligations so stipulated in said Minute Order
as being responsibilities of the City.

WHEREAS, in WICHITA COUNTY, the Wichita Falls Urban Transportation Study now
nearing completion will provide a comprehensive plan for future development of
traffic ways to care for present and anticipated traffic volumes; and
WHEREAS, such transportation plan indicates the need for an arterial facility
along or near North Beverly Drive extending from D. S. Highway 287 South to the
Big Wichita River, a distance of approximately 2.75 miles; and
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has requested that such a facility be under-
taken as a part of the State highway system and have indicated their willingness
and ability to enter into preliminaries leading to the ultimate development of
such a facility; and
WHEREAS, an analysis of the request and the transportation plan indicates that
such a facility would be a desirable part of the State highway system;
NOW, THEREFORE, the State Highway Engineer is directed to transmit the following
proposal to the City of Wichita Falls:
The Texas Highway Department will:
1. Designate and relocate Loop 11 within the above described limits, will
participate in the purchase of right of way and provide for its ultimate
construction as a major arterial, all in accordance with exigioQ laws
and policies of the Texas Highway Department.
Provided the City will:
1. Participate in the purchase of right of way and such items of construction
required by Departmental policies for municipal projects.
2. Agree to accept the present location of Loop 11 from the old Iowa Park
Highway South to Big Wichita River into their street system for maintenance.

This action is taken in the interest of advance planning with the uodcrata,^i"x
that State funds are not now available for the purchase of right of way and con-
struction. It is understood that the work will be undertaken by increments as
funds become available for allocation in future programs of work.
Upon acceptance of the provisions of this Order by the appropriate officials
of the City of Wichita Falls, the State Highway Engineer is directed to proceed
with Engineering Surveys to Establish the Location and Determine Right of Way
Requirements.
This Order shall become operative upon acceptance by the City of Wichita Falls
and if not accepted within 90 days of the date hereof, the action herein con-
tained uball be automatically cancelled.
