Res 592 3/8/1965RESOLUTION NO. 592
WHEREAS, the Midwestern University Basketball Team on
the night of March 2, 1965, in the City of Edinburg, Texas,
beat Pan American College of that City by ascore of 70 to
69 to win the NAIA District Championship; and,
WHEREAS, winning this Championship brought distinction
and honor upon Midwestern University, its student body and
faculty, and upon the City of Wichita Falls as a whole; and,
WHEREAS, the Midwestern University Basketball Team will
represent Midwestern University and the City of Wichita Falls
in the NAIA Tournament at Kansas City, Missouri, during the
week of March 8 through 13th.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, in order to show the
appreciation of the people of the City of Wichita Falls to
the Indians of Midwestern University, that we do hereby
proclaim this as Midwestern Indian Week in honor of the
1964-65 Midwestern University Basketball Team.
