RESOLUTION NO. -_,
WHEREAS, for many years ther has been a need in the City of Wichita
Falls for a facility where there ,:ould be assembled and preserved articles
and documents of historical, educticAnal and cultural significance
that theythey could be accessible for the enlightenment and the enjoyment of
the people in our area; and,
WHEPAS , the Junior Service League, which had a record of accatpllsh-
ing many other programs for the lytterment of the community, recognized
this need, and, realizing that Wi(:hita Falls was one of two cities in
Texas of over 100 , 000 population i:hout a museum, spent three years of
extensive study of the project. wic:i stuy culminated in the forma.rion of
the WcTh ;a Falls Museum and Art Center, non-profit Texas corportion,
Ting forward toward their goa : :: providing such a museum ar:c
art .7: ,I= . for the City of Wichita Flls ; and,
WHEREAS , plans are well under way far the Museum which will, when
completed, offer exhibits depicting the industry, agriculture Lnd s-
tory of our area, wild life and biological displays, and a gallery of a:
together with a planetarium; and,
WHEREAS , the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls are of
the opinion that this Museum and Art Center will constitute a valuable
addition to the City.

Ill the Junior Service Leaq o. and the Wichita Falls Museum and Art
1: are commended and thanked for their efforts and achievements in
eating this Museum and Art Center in the City of Wichita Falls , and
that the continued support by the citizen: of Wichita Falls of this pro-
ject be encouraged so that it can become a reality.
